I can’t think of any diseases or chronic illnesses that affect more people than these three - cancer, diabetes, and stress. What can you expect if you are diagnosed with cancer or diabetes? What can you do today, this very moment, to reduce your level of stress? Read on and find out.
CANCER - Traditional medical treatments for cancer may include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy. Many doctors use a combination of methods in an effort to increase the effectiveness and speed at which they attack the cancer. The treatment or combination of treatments is often dependent on the type, location, and severity of the cancer. While all of these therapies have been used with varying degrees of success - NONE OF THEM address the main problem with cancer - TOO MANY PEOPLE GET CANCER IN THE FIRST PLACE! Where is the prevention side of the solution?
DIABETES - Almost everyone knows someone with diabetes. From 1980 through 2004, less than one-quarter of a century, the total number of Americans with diabetes more than doubled! Estimates show that about six percent of the American population or about 18.2 million Americans suffer from this life-long illness. And about 6 million of those people haven’t been diagnosed yet. Again, too many people are being diagnosed with diabetes. Where is the prevention side of the solution?
STRESS - Your life is full of stress! Any arguments? Didn’t think so. Your life is full of pressure, frustration, and stress. Worrying about job security, being overworked, driving in rush hour traffic, arguing with your spouse, even dealing with medical bills - all of these create stress in your life. According to the American Psychology Association, more than half of all Americans report being concerned about the level of stress in their lives. Most people are feeling over-scheduled, overextended, and overworked. By far, the most commonly reported source of stress is the workplace. So how do we reduce the stress in our lives?
I know of three great articles that cover each of these killers:
Cancer Prevention - How to Reduce Your Risk of Cancer
Diabetes - Three Natural Ways to Prevent, Control, and Treat
Stress - How it Affects You and How You Can Treat It
The articles not only describe these killers in more detail but also provide ways to reduce your risks to them - in effect providing you with the prevention side of the solution. Read the articles and find out how.
