Our lives are shaped by our conversations and our thoughts. I’ve found this to be true after speaking with very wealthy people, many CEOs, my co-workers and employees, my teammates, friends, and relatives. What we think and how we speak determines how we live. I’ve found many people that sacrifice health for wealth. They take their health for granted until they lose it. That is one of the reasons I feel this blog is so important. Putting YOUR life at the top of the priority list is so very important if you want to create and achieve a world-class life for yourself and your family.
Creating a remarkable life does require discipline and hard work. How many time have we heard our parents or grandparents say that the best things in life offer the greatest challenges and require the greatest sacrifices. It’s unfortunate that we mix or confuse success in the business world for real success in our lives. Norman Cousins once said, ” The great tragedy is not death, it’s what we allow to die inside of us while we live.” When you are on your deathbed, you’re not thinking about how much money you have or how much you have accomplished. The questions people generally ask on the deathbeds are:
- Have I lived wisely?
- Have I loved well?
- Have I served greatly?
If fear of failure is what stops you from creating the life of your dreams, then I recommend you take little steps each day. A little step each day, over 30 days will make working toward your life goals a habit. Good habits achieve good goals. Over time, you’ll get to a place that you never imagined possible.
If you are forgetting to make healthy choices, how about putting a picture of your ideal body on the bathroom mirror or on the refigerator to remind yourself of what you visualize yourself to look like? How about setting out your healthy breakfast the night before? Include the items that will start your day off right. Make sure you have the right balance of healthy nutrition to give your body the fuel it needs to perform at peak levels. The attitude and outlook you positively set in the morning can carry you throughout the day resulting in less stress, higher productivity (the feeling you did good today), and improved relationships with those you work and live with every day.
Take control of your own life. Little steps, including eating right and exercising places YOU on the top of the priority list of life.
