Today we’ll add to our series on Getting Started Right with Nutritional Supplements by discussing your first serving. Once we decide to start taking a nutritional supplement we often ask ourselves how much should we take as our first serving? To start out, you should complete the Health Evaluation Questionnaire. The questionnaire will help you assess your current health and make a recommendation on how much and how often you should take your liquid nutritional supplement.
After completing the Health Evaluation Questionnaire and determining your health index, your ready to begin. Here a few guidelines on getting started right:
1. Shake the bottle. You want the mixture of sea vegetable pulp and Aloe Vera to be consistent throughout the pour. You don’t have to mix it like a can of spray paint. Just a few shakes should do it.
2. Use a measuring cup for your first servings. It will guide you on the proper amount to consume. We tend to over and underestimate how much a couple of ounces looks like in a glass so use the measuring cup.
3. Use the same glass every time. Once you’ve measured a few servings and noted how much it fills your favorite glass you can do away with the measuring cup. It makes it much easier to get into the habit of taking your liquid nutritional supplement each day when you can just pour it into your favorite glass.
4. Take a small sip and hold it under your tongue. Why? Because there are special cells under your tongue that will readily absorb the liquid supplement. Holding the liquid supplement under your tongue will start the absorption process and help you attain maximum benefit from each individual serving. Remember that the higher the absorption rate, the more nutrients that enter the body and the more nutrients that enter the body the more your body can make use of them!
5. Store the opened container of liquid nutritional supplements in the fridge. Why? Because it is a whole food that was cold processed (if your nutritional supplement is not a cold processed whole food, you’re wasting time and money) keeping the enzymes, amino acids, and other nutrients alive and intact. You want your liquid nutritional supplement as potent as possible so that your body receives the maximum benefit. Put the open container in the fridge as you would do with your fruits and vegetables. After all, your liquid nutritional supplement that is a whole food and cold processed is the same (except more nutrient dense) as your store-bought fruits and vegetables.
You may experience a bit of cleansing from the supplement but that is probably due to toxins that have built up in your body. The combination of the laxative effect from Aloe Vera is typically offset from the constipation effect of sea vegetables. When combined you reach a normal state of regularity but initially may experience the cleansing effect as your body eliminates stored toxins. The key here is to continue taking the supplement. Cutting the dose in half and working in a bit more each day will keep you on track to enjoying the benefits of a nutrient dense liquid nutritional supplement.
Remember to take the Health Evaluation Questionnaire, determine your health index and obtain your recommended amount of nutritional supplement to take each day. Take small sips and hold it under your tongue for maximum absorption. Follow these and other guidelines provided in Your First Servings of a Nutritional Supplement and you can start enjoying your Way to Wellness!
